The Napier City Council has reserved its decision on whether one of the city's biggest tourist drawcards, Marineland, will be closed.
Two years ago, after the attraction's second-to-last dolphin, Shona, died, the council was presented with a petition signed by 13,000 people calling for the Government to allow the importation of dolphins.
Napier Mayor Barbara Arnott said the council had agreed to investigate redevelopment options for Marineland after the last dolphin, 38-year-old Kelly, dies.
