The Maori Party leadership will meet in Wellington today to discuss post-election positions after Saturday's poll, which could deliver the party the balance of power.
The Maori Party has been a support partner of National over the past three years but has not ruled out working with anybody.
If National's two other support parties, Act and United Future, are not in the next Parliament, and New Zealand First is, the Maori Party could hold the balance of power, depending on how the numbers fall.
The same scenario could also see the Greens in a powerful position, with even an abstention having the ability to influence the formation of a government.
One area the Maori Party is expected to cover in its discussions is National's proposed partial asset sales.
