KEY POINTS:
A fire in Manurewa destroyed about 200 square metres of bush and scrub early this morning.
Steve Smith from Fire communications said six fire engines attended the call that came through at 1am this morning and the fire on Roscommon Rd was put out by 6am.
He said it was not known how the fire started.
Police closed Roscommon Rd between Vogler Drive and Browns Rd but it has since reopened.
