Seventy-two Manurewa power customers remain without electricity tonight after a car crashed into a power pole and lines were left dangling over the road.
The crash at the corner of Hill and Hillcrest roads, just before 6pm, initially cut power to more than 1200 customers in the South Auckland suburb, including homes and businesses.
Vector spokeswoman Melanie Tuala said power has been restored to most of those affected, but 72 customers will have to wait until at least the early hours of tomorrow morning before their electricity is restored.
The pole was high voltage and a crew was working to replace it overnight, Tuala said.
An ambulance spokeswoman confirmed no one was injured in the crash.
