Police have charged a 47-year-old New Plymouth man with manslaughter over the death of a man in the city.
Darrin Athol Julian, 44, was found dead at his flat on Govett Avenue about midday on Saturday, the Taranaki Daily News reported.
The arrested man is due in New Plymouth District Court today charged with manslaughter.
The men knew each other and were at Mr Julian's home with his flatmate when he died, New Plymouth CIB chief Detective Senior Sergeant Grant Coward said.
The dead man had no obvious signs of injuries and police hoped a post-mortem examination would provide information about the cause of death.
