Manslaughter accused father named

The Kakaramea farmer charged with manslaughter after his 4-year-old daughter died in a quad bike accident is Gavin John Vanner, 37.

Name suppression was lifted yesterday in the Hawera District Court, where he was remanded on continued bail to appear on October 18, although he did not appear.

Vanner is charged with manslaughter by allowing Molly Elizabeth Vanner to ride out of his direct supervision and without wearing a helmet on August 30.
