A man suffered serious injuries after being glassed in a Hamilton bar around 1.30 this morning.
Hamilton police say the man suffered a serious neck wound after a confrontation in an inner-city bar.
Detective Sergeant Ricky Thompson of the Hamilton CIB said emergency services were called to the bar on Hood St around 1.30am.
"Our inquiries are still in their initial stages but at this point we understand an altercation took place on the bar's dance floor which deteriorated to the point where a glass was thrown which shattered on impact, cutting a 26-year-old man's neck.
"This man was taken to Waikato Hospital where he received several stitches before being released. Investigators are receiving good cooperation from bar management and staff and have been able to review CCTV footage of the event."
