Surgeons did not try to re-attach a man's foot, severed in an accident at the Port of Tauranga yesterday.
The 41-year-old Tauranga man's foot was cut off just above the ankle when it became caught in a winch as the he worked in the port's log yard.
The man and his foot were rushed to Tauranga Hospital before being transferred by the TrustPower TECT rescue helicopter to Waikato Hospital.
