Police have ruled out foul play after a man was burned to death in a car parked in a garage of a house on Auckland's North Shore at the weekend.
Firefighters found the body Shayne McLean, 40, a telecommunications specialist, after extinguishing the blaze at Marcel Place, Glenfield, about 1.30am on Saturday.
After studying the results of today's post mortem, police said that the death was not being treated as suspicious.
Detective Senior Sergeant Kim Libby said the death had now been referred to the coroner.
Neighbours said they heard an engine revving and a car horn blast before the garage caught fire.
