The body of a 52-year-old man has been recovered from the Urewera Ranges near Ruatahuna.
Two 11-year-old boys raised the alarm after the man collapsed in the bush yesterday evening.
Some Search and Rescue staff who were looking for three lost walkers near Lake Rotoiti were diverted to the area to look for him.
The man's body was found in the early hours of this morning and brought out just after 1pm this afternoon using quad bikes and a 4WD.
The three lost walkers were found shortly after 11pm last night but had to take a different route out to avoid steep bluffs, so didn't make it out of the bush until 2am today.
