KEY POINTS:
Police are not treating the discovery of a man's body on Taylor's Mistake beach, near Christchurch as suspicious.
Sergeant Phil Newton said two walkers found the body of a 50-year-old man beside a popular walking track this morning.
Circumstances around the death did not appear to be suspicious.
He said the man's name would not be released until relatives had been identified.
The matter has been passed to the coroner.
