A man's body has been found in the Waikato River.
Waikato police Search and Rescue Squad members were searching the river this morning when the body was discovered at about 10am near the end of Hampton Downs Rd, about 10km downstream from Rangiriri.
"We working to formally identify the man but we believe the body to be that of a south Auckland man seen jumping from the bridge over the river at Rangiriri seven days ago," said Huntly Sub-Area Manager, Senior Sergeant Pete Simpson.
"There has not been anyone else reported missing over this period of time and hopefully the identification can be completed in a timely manner to enable us to return the body to his family."
The body's recovery and the case of establishing the cause of death has been referred to the Coroner.
