An autopsy today is expected to determine if there are suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of a man whose body was found in suburban Hamilton yesterday.
A scene guard was in place at a Nawton address overnight after the body was removed from the house yesterday afternoon.
Detective Senior Sergeant Karl Thornton, of Hamilton CIB, said police were called to the house in Roy St by ambulance staff shortly before 9am.
"An area canvass and scene examination was carried out yesterday and the body of the man, believed aged in his 40s, was removed from the house shortly before 5pm," he said.
An autopsy would be carried in Auckland today, said Mr Thornton.
