A man's body was found in bay a near Dunedin this morning.
Police believed the man may have got into trouble trying to row a dinghy to a yacht moored in Deborah Bay, near Port Chalmers, about midnight last night, Senior Sergeant Chris Brown of Dunedin police said.
A half submerged dinghy was found near his body.
The death of the man, believed to be a local, did not appear to be suspicious, Mr Brown told NZPA.
It had been referred to the coroner and his name will not be released until next of kin have been notified.
