Police in Kapiti are hunting a "dangerous'' man with gang connections so he can brought back to jail.
A warrant for the arrest of Leister Brendon Caldwell, 35, was issued after the Probation Service applied for him to be recalled to prison.
Detective Sergeant Ian Martin of Kapiti police said Caldwell is known to frequent both the Kapiti and Porirua areas.
"He has gang connections, is considered dangerous and should not be approached,'' he said.
Caldwell is described as a 1.7m tall European of medium to stocky build.
