It will be another couple of days before a slip on a railway track through the Manawatu Gorge is cleared.
A milk train on the way to Taranaki hit the slip on Saturday.
KiwiRail spokeswoman Jenni Austin said contractors worked all day yesterday to clear debris from the track.
She said it should be cleared by Wednesday.
Ms Austin said workers needed to finish clearing the debris, remove the train, check the track and make any repairs.
