Two people are critical and three are in serious condition after a two-vehicle crash in Manawatū this afternoon.
Emergency services responded to the crash on Ashurst Rd, Bunnythorpe, about 2.15pm.
Hato Hone St John sent five ambulances, one rapid response unit, one operations manager, and two helicopters.
Two people in critical condition were flown to Wellington Hospital and three in serious condition were taken to Palmerston North Hospital by ambulance, a Hato Hone St John spokesman said.
Traffic is being diverted while emergency services respond and the Serious Crash Unit conducts a scene examination.
