A man standing on a lawn holding a rifle sparked an armed offenders squad (AOS) callout in Marlborough this morning.
A neighbour called police at 7.10am after seeing the man with the gun on Clyde Street in Renwick, 13km west of Blenheim, Senior Sergeant Ciaran Sloan of Blenheim police told The Marlborough Express.
The 66-year-old was arrested by the AOS as he tried to leave the property in a ute.
He was charged with intimidation, Mr Sloan said.
