Police are looking for a man with a limp after an attempted "burglary with sexual overtones" in Rotorua on Saturday night.
A woman awoke to find the man in the her bedroom of her Turner Drive home about midnight.
She called out to another occupant of the house, and the man fled, falling from a three metre high balcony.
Police said soon afterwardwards the woman's neighbour found a man attempting to break into his vehicle. The neighbour said the man was of medium build and had an obvious limp, possibly suffered in the fall.
A police dog tracked the scent to Leslie Avenue where there was a large party of about 180 people. Police are keen to hear from anyone at the party who may have seen an injured man around midnight.
