Man with burns flown to specialist unit

A Wanganui man is in Hutt Hospital's special burns unit with serious burns to his legs and lower body.

It is understood petrol soaked clothing he was wearing caught alight, Ross McGuigan, pilot of The Square Trust rescue helicopter said in a statement today.

The helicopter flew the man, 33, from Wanganui Hospital to the Hutt Hospital this morning.
