KEY POINTS:
A man jailed for life for the murder of his son has had his application for parole declined.
Timaru truck driver Peter Arthur McRoberts was convicted of the murder of six-year-old Kelly in 1999.
He appeared before the Parole Board last week for the first time, the Timaru Herald reported today.
The board said McRoberts had done well in prison, but needed to sort out a movement toward accommodation and support and income for the future.
