A Wellington man who fled with his seven-year-old daughter after a dispute last week has been tracked down and arrested.
A search was launched for Lau Leota, 41, after he and his daughter Faaulua left her home at Linden, Tawa, north of Wellington, about midnight last Tuesday.
He returned the girl to her home on Friday evening and vanished again.
Leota was arrested last night after police found his vehicle in suburban Berhampore.
He appeared in Wellington District Court today charged with assault with intent to injure and was remanded in custody to reappear on Friday.
