A man who fled from Wellington police twice in two days was found hiding in the boot of a friends car in the Wairarapa.
The man was seen driving dangerously in Wainuiomata on Tuesday, but a police pursuit had to be abandoned because of protocol and excessive speeds.
He was then seen driving erratically again yesterday near Upper Hutt but police had to once again call off their chase.
Inspector Mike Hill says they finally managed to track him down in Featherston where he was hiding in the boot of his friends car.
"We are seeing the pursuits. We have a number of safety issues and we will have pursuits called off. They may get away at the time but we will detect them, we'll apprehend them and we're certainly going to hold them accountable through the courts as well."
