A man who died after a garden shed exploded at Red Beach on the Hibiscus Coast, north of Auckland, last Thursday has been named by police.
He was 71-year-old Daniel Frederick Fenton.
Police investigated and found Mr Fenton's death was not suspicious, Detective John Gilbert, of Orewa police, told NZPA.
Firefighters were called to Mr Fenton's houses on Thursday morning by a neighbour, who said the shed at the back of the property had exploded and a man was inside.
When firefighters put the fire out they found Mr Fenton's body inside.
The death has been referred to the coroner.
