A man who allegedly stabbed a woman to death at a south Auckland home they shared can now be named.
Thon Lam, 38, appeared in the High Court at Auckland this morning facing a charge of murder after the April 19 incident.
His name has been suppressed since his first appearance but today his lawyer Marie Dyhrberg, QC, said there were no grounds to continue that order.
The 48-year-old victim Davina Nguyen lived at the address with Lam and police confirmed at the time there were a number of people at the Cambridge Terrace house when she was allegedly stabbed.
Officers arrived at the Papatoetoe home to find Ms Nguyen bleeding heavily as a result of injuries received from "a sharp instrument", and commenced CPR.
