KEY POINTS:
A man wanted for beating his ex-partner before setting her home on fire is still on the run, police said today.
Graham Adrian Rae, 37, is wanted on assault and arson charges for the alleged attack in Plimmerton, north of Wellington, last week.
A Porirua police spokesman said it was thought Rae had fled to the South Island and was hiding in the Greymouth or Hokitika area.
Rae was understood to go by a number of aliases including John Jake Holmes, Graham Gordon, Graham Rasson and Graham Ranson.
Rae - described as a European, 170cm tall, brown hair and of medium build - was believed to be driving a black four-door Mazda Familia, registration XRS215.
