KEY POINTS:
An 83-year-old man spent Tuesday night sheltering under a bush after getting lost on a tramp near Upper Hutt.
Police said yesterday that apart from gorse scratches, Ian James Forrester was none the worse for his experience.
A search was launched for Mr Forrester, of Trentham, after he failed to return from a walk in bush at Birchville.
Police said Mr Forrester walked out of the bush shortly before 10am yesterday.
