A man was having surgery to his thigh today after he was stabbed in an early morning incident in central Auckland.
Police were called to the Freeman's Bay area shortly after 6am where a man was found to have a stab wound in his thigh.
The wound was not life-threatening and police said after he had been treated he was expected to help identify the person who stabbed him.
It is believed the injured man may have known his assailant.
