A man trapped under a tree in Northland this afternoon has died.
A Fire Service Northern Communications spokesman said the man had been trapped under a tree on a farm on Mataraua Rd in Kaikohe.
Emergency services at the scene had confirmed he was dead and firefighters were waiting for the go ahead to remove the man's body, he said.
Sergeant Kevin Milne of Northland said police were called to the scene, which was only accessible by four-wheel-drive, about 2.50pm.
He confirmed a 32-year-old man had died at the scene.
