A 21-year-old Manawatu farm worker who spent last night trapped under a quad bike was saved by the 'hand of God", the farm owner says.
The farm worker fell from his quad bike into a stream on the Lethbridge Rd property, near Feilding, last night.
He remained trapped until 8am this morning when he was rescued by police.
Farm owner Lydia Read and her husband were in Taupo, when the man was trapped. The Reads did not return to their Lethbridge Road property until dark - they did not notice Richard was missing.
"My husband found it odd that he had not heard from Richard the next morning, so he went on to the farm to check. It turned out (he) had been pinned under the bike at three points. He called the ambulance and the boy was rescued within the next hour," she said.
