A man charged with murder after a fatal shooting north of Auckland in January is to stand trial in the High Court.
Alan Gundry, 30, was today committed to trial after a one-day depositions hearing in the North Shore District Court.
Gundry is accused of murdering Orewa man Gene Atkins on January 12 with a hunting rifle.
Justices of the peace in the district court were told the shooting happened at Gundry's home in Redvale during an argument between Atkins and Atkins' partner.
