KEY POINTS:
A man who says he came off worst in a confrontation with boyracers has indicated he will deny the three charges he now faces in Christchurch District Court.
James Wilson, a 36-year-old engineer, got a registrar's remand when his case went to court today and he has been remanded on bail to a status hearing on October 20, Christchurch Court News website reports.
Wilson says he went out into the street outside his home in Marlborough Street about 5pm on a Wednesday after being disturbed by a car outside.
He says he spoke briefly to the car's occupants but was left clinging to the bonnet as the vehicle reversed away. He needed hospital treatment after hitting his head when the car crashed into a parked van.
Wilson has since been charged with disorderly behaviour, possession of an offensive weapon, and threatening to kill or cause grievous bodily harm.
