KEY POINTS:
An elderly man who admitted indecently assaulting two young girls in the 1960s, will be sentenced in the High Court in Wellington this morning.
83 year-old Charles Morgan was put on trial on six historical sex abuse charges last month, but entered a guilty plea to two of the charges on the first day. The others were then dropped.
The abuse happened when he was living in Taumarunui in the 1960s. He later lived in Wellington and then Australia, and was arrested when he came back to New Zealand for a holiday in 2004.
He was allowed to return to Australia after paying a $20,000 bond, on the understanding he would return to face any charges. However he then claimed he was too sick to travel back, and had to be extradited last year.
