A Southland man is expected to be sentenced this morning in relation to a hunting fatality earlier this year.
Blair John Davidson pleaded guilty last month to a charge of failing to take reasonable precautions while in the possession of a firearm and causing the death of Mark Vanderley at the end of April.
The pair was part of a group that was on a weekend hunting trip on Glenlapa Station in northern Southland.
The incident happened when the group was spotlighting late at night.
The 25-year-old will be sentenced in the High Court in Invercargill this morning.
