A 25-year-old labourer appeared in court today charged with attempted murder after the third reported stabbing in south Auckland in four days.
Sonny Wayne Moa was remanded in custody by Manukau District Court.
Police said the charge arose from a domestic incident about 5pm yesterday when a 36-year-old woman was slashed around the neck several times with a knife.
She was reported to be in a stable condition in Middlemore Hospital today.
The incident in Manurewa followed fatal stabbings on Friday and Saturday, with all three cases occurring within a 3km radius.
On Friday, 22-year-old student Krishna Naidu died after being attacked while working in his parents' dairy in Clendon.
A 16-year-old boy has been charged with his murder.
On Saturday night, 15-year-old Pihema Clifford Cameron was killed during an alleged argument over graffiti.
He died at the scene in Southview Place, Manurewa.
A 50-year-old businessman, Bruce William Emery, has been charged with his murder.
