Man to appear in court on firearms counts

A 39-year-old man will appear in Nelson District Court today on firearms and explosives matters.

Motueka police, backed by the Nelson armed offenders squad, executed a search warrant at a Motueka campground yesterday afternoon and arrested the man.

During the operation, a section of coastal highway and part of Motueka's main street were cordoned off for about an hour.
