The Tauranga Rescue Helicopter has attended to a man stung in the face by a jellyfish this yesterday.
The Tauranga man, who's in his 50s, was out diving near Motiti Island off the Bay of Plenty coast when he was stung.
He didn't think much of it at first, but once he surfaced began to feel unwell.
It got to the point where he was stretched out in pain on the deck of his boat.
The helicopter was sent, as he was also finding it hard to breathe, but once they arrived his condition started to improve and the medic was able to treat him at the scene.
