Emergency services have rescued a man who was stuck under a digger in a landslide in the Waikato.
A police spokesman said the police and ambulance services were called just after 2pm to the incident at Rotowaro Rd at Glen Afton.
It is understood the incident could be at a commercial business, the police spokesman said.
St John Ambulance were able to reach the digger driver and stabilised him before removing him.
A source told the Herald the incident occurred at Puke Coal, an open cast coal mine. It also operates as a consented construction and demolition landfill.
Appliances that were sent from Hamilton have been turned around, leaving two Huntly crews at the scene along with police and ambulance.
Waikato police Senior Sergeant Dave Raffan said the digger driver suffered minor injuries.
