KEY POINTS:
A Levin man is in stable condition after having a car key removed from his head following an attack in Levin.
The 22-year-old was flown by The Square Trust rescue helicopter to Wellington Hospital with the key embedded behind his right ear after he was involved in an assault.
The key was later removed from his head.
A hospital spokeswoman said today the man was stable and was expected to be discharged later today.
Police inquiries into the incident are still continuing.
