Hastings police are appealing for information after a man was stabbed on his way to work this morning.
Police said the 30-year-old Hastings man was walking to work when he was attacked at the intersection of Riverslea Road North and St Aubyn Street East.
The attacker was described as a Maori or Polynesian man of average height and build. He was wearing dark coloured clothes and was last seen walking north on Riverslea Road North.
The victim was helped by several members of the public and is being treated for several stab wounds.
His condition is not known.
