A Christmas Day domestic dispute turned violent in Feilding yesterday and a man was stabbed in the neck.
Feilding police Sergeant Michael Lawton said the dispute involved a number of people and police were called to a home about 9pm.
"During this dispute a 39-year-old male at the address was stabbed in the neck with a hunting knife and was taken to Palmerston North Hospital where he received treatment for his injury," he said.
The man's injury was not life-threatening and his condition was described as comfortable.
A 23-year-old Feilding man was arrested and charged in connection with the attack.
He was to appear in court today and was likely to be remanded in custody, Mr Lawton said.
