Man stabbed in South Auckland street fight

A man was stabbed in the stomach during a street brawl between up to 20 people in south Auckland early this morning, police said.

He was taken to hospital about 3am after police received numerous reports of people fighting in Solveig Place in Manurewa, Inspector Andrew Brill of the police northern communications centre said.

The man's injuries were not life threatening and Counties Manukau CIB were investigating the incident.
