A man has been taken to Auckland City Hospital with multiple stab wounds after an altercation in the central city tonight.
Police were called to a Vincent St property after reports of an altercation between two men.
One allegedly stabbed the other twice - in the back and under his arm.
A police spokeswoman said the victim was initially "unwilling" to speak to police but was now cooperating.
The men knew each other, and police were trying to locate the alleged offender.
There was no risk to the public, the spokeswoman said.
The Herald understands the injured man is affiliated with Black Power.
However, the altercation that led to his injuries were not thought to be gang-related.
Further information was likely to be available tomorrow once police had located the alleged offender, including what charges would be laid.
