A confrontation between three men at a late-night cook-up in a holiday park kitchen near Queenstown led to one being hospitalised with stab wounds, police say.
Two men were using the kitchen at the Glenorchy Holiday Park about 2.50am on Sunday, when an argument arose with a camper in a nearby tent.
The argument escalated into a confrontation, and one of the cooks was stabbed twice, once in the chest and once in the stomach, Detective Sergeant Grahme Bartlett said.
He was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Police had not yet laid charges and inquiries were continuing, he said.
Glenorchy is about 30km northwest of Queenstown in Central Otago.
