A 26-year-old man has been hospitalised with stab wounds after being attacked by a group of youths in Wainuiomata on Friday.
Detective Sergeant Richard Orr said that about 11.45pm on Friday the victim was attacked near the alleyway exiting Rata Street. It is believed that the people involved had recently left a nearby party.
During the attack the victim sustained a number of stab wounds requiring surgery. He is now in a stable condition in Hutt Hospital.
The police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who have information which may assist in identifying the attackers.
