An Arrowtown man is in hospital after being stabbed in the neck and stomach during an altercation overnight.
Detective Sergeant Grahme Bartlett, of Queenstown CIB, said the man was drinking at an outside table at the Willows Restaurant in Arrowtown.
During a confrontation between patrons at the bar just after midnight, the 23-year-old was stabbed in the neck and stomach.
He was taken to Southland Hospital.
Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident.
They would also like to hear from anyone who saw a second incident, also in Arrowtown, when the occupants of a white Honda were set upon by a group of men outside the Night and Day dairy, about 12.30am.
