Police investigating the murder of taxi driver Hiren Mohini have released footage of a man whom investigators are seeking.
The CCTV images show a man walking along Queen St around 1am on January 31.
Mr Mohini collected his last passenger shortly after this, activating the emergency button in his taxi at 1.20am before he was attacked and murdered in Mt Eden.
Detective Senior Sergeant Hywel Jones said the man in the footage appeared to have been carrying a bag similar to the blue tubular-shaped one which was recovered from a nearby property on Monday night.
"This bag has blood on it, was found in the neighbourhood and it's possible that the man pictured was carrying it," Mr Jones said.
Anyone with information about the man's identity or whereabouts should call 0800 444 014, or the anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
