Police are hunting for a man who held up a Remuera dairy-worker with a gun and demanded cash before making off in a car.
The Racecourse Dairy, in Green Lane East, was robbed shortly before 5pm on Monday.
Detective Constable Mark Pickles, of Glen Innes Police, said a female worker was ordered to hand over cash before he ran towards a waiting vehicle on St Vincent's Ave.
"It is likely that the main offender had an accomplice in the way of the getaway driver," Mr Pickles said.
The man is described as a Pacific Islander or Maori, aged in his late teens to early 20s, with dark brown hair.
He also wore a black bandanna, with white print, that covered his face.
The vehicle is thought to be a red Toyota.
