Man shot dead in Kinloch, Taupo

A man has died in a shooting at an address in Kinloch, on the shores of Lake Taupo.

Police said they were called around 8.45pm to help ambulance officers after receiving reports of an injured man at an address on rural Whangamata Rd.

"A man has been found dead at the scene and at this stage it appears to be from a gunshot wound," a police statement said.

"Police inquiries will continue through the night and a scene guard will be in place at the address."

There was no more information available tonight, police said.​
