The man shot by police at the weekend in Manurewa has been released from hospital.
Police say the man was pepper sprayed and tasered before being shot in the leg, following a domestic violence call out.
Detective Inspector Dave Lynch says the 43-year-old has walked from hospital but is now in police custody.
The man faces six charges including male assaults female and three of assaulting police with a weapon.
